Austrian company OMV AG said Tuesday evening it will cancel talks with Russian state-owned gas company Gazprom about a possible acquisition and will evaluate its participation in the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project, becoming the latest European energy company to withdraw from Russian-related interests since Russia’s invasion of neighboring Ukraine last week.

OMV said it will not move forward with a potential acquisition of about 25% of the Achimov 4A/5A phase of the development of Gazprom’s Urengoy gas and condensate field, and will terminate an underlying sales agreement that began in October 2018.
